As we all known that, people have two kidneys. Even one of their kidneys lose functions, the other can go on work separately and won't influence people's health. Therefore, people may have no feeling until the kidneys were damaged to a certain extent. However, the disease has actually lasted for some time when Uremia is diagnosed due to physical examination or some symptoms, such as poor appetite, Hypertension, anemia and so on.
There are various kinds of reasons for people causing Uremia. After long-term widely studies, medical community summarized the following factors which can lead to Uremia, and probably include the reason why people get Uremia.
In general, the doctor may ask the patients the past medical history as well as the protopathy which lead to the occurrence of Uremia, and then adopt the targeted treatment.
Why do people suffer from Uremia? The most direct reason for the patients is that they may have kidney diseases before. As everyone knows, if various kidney diseases such as Chronic Nephritis, Lupus Nephritis, Purpura Nephritis, Diabetic Nephropathy, Hypertensive Nephropathy and so on, which are not well treated or lose control, they will finally develop into Uremia. The renal tissues may totally become fibrosis, which lead loss of renal function, and people have to take dialysis or kidney transplant. Therefore, normal people are suggested to pay more attention to the kidney diseases, and timely go to see the doctors for correct treatment, thus preventing the occurrence of Uremia.
What caused Uremia?
a. Secondary to the general: such as hypertension, arterioslerosis, and systematic Lupus Erythematosis, Henoch-Schӧnlein Purpura, Diabetes, Gout etc, can lead to Uremia.
b. Chronic Urinary Tract Obstruction, such as kidney stone, bilateral ureteral calculus, urinary tract stenosis, prostatic hyperplasia, tumor etc. are also the causes of Uremia.
c. Congenital renal diseases: Polycystic Kidney, Alport Syndrome, and various kinds of congenital renal tubular dysfunction.
d. Chronic kidney infectious diseases, such as Chronic Pyelonephritis.
e. Other causes: such as nephrotoxic drugs taking. Research shows, about 25% of the Renal Insufficiency patients can not get away with nephrotoxic drugs, what's more, losing weight blindly may induce Uremia too. And AIDS virus infection has become another cause of Uremia, which is also leading a rising trend, up to now 1% of all the remote cause.
f. Various kinds of Primary Glomerulo-nephritis: e.g. Membrano proliferative GN, rapidly progressive glomerulo-nephritis, membranous GN, focal glomeruloscerosis, if these diseases are not effectively treated, it will result in Uremia. As kidney disease is the major cause of Uremia, so Chronic Kidney Diseases will end up in Uremia if not timely treated. In all the chronic kidney diseases, chronic Nephritis is the first cause of Uremia, and in which Chronic Glomerulonephritis takes up 55.7%.
