What are the symptoms of Lupus Nephritis?

Lupus Nephritis is common in middle-aged or young women. The patients with mild Lupus Nephritis don’t have any other symptoms except Protein or hematuria; in most cases, patients may have proteinuria, leucocyturia, erythrocyturia, cylindruria, or nephrotic syndrome, accompanying by edema, hypertension or renal function decline, usually more nocturnal micturition; it is rare that the onset of Lupus Nephritis is acute and the renal function quickly aggravates.

1. The symptoms of whole body: intermittent fever, erythema on the creekbone, oral ulser with no pain, joint swelling and pain, epilepsy, hands and feet become pale when it is cold and pink when it is warm, then the color become normal.

2. The symptoms of kidneys: simple hematuria or proteinuria; hematuria, proteinuria accompanied by edema, mild lumbago or hypertension which are like the symptoms of nephritis; mass of proteinuria, hypoproteinemia, edema which are like those of Nephrotic Syndrome; hematuria, protein accompanied by acute renal failure which are like the symptoms of quickly progressing nephritis; the symptoms like those of Chronic Renal Failure. It can be one of the situations in daily life.

3. Abnormality in test: Blood Routine Examination result shows that white blood cells or platelet decrease, or anemia occur; low Complement C. kidney biopsy is helpful to the diagnosis of Lupus Nephritis as well as the treatment.

The synptoms of Lupus Nephritis is not typical. When there is one symptom renal abnormality, it is often wrongly diagnosed as Nephritis, Nephrotic Syndrome, or Chronic Renal Failure. In that case, the best chance to treat the disease would be missed. If the ill condition is not timely controlled, it can develop into uremia , heart failure, or septicemia. If one has the above symptoms, one should have related examination further.
