What Are the Symptoms of Kidney Cyst

2011-06-02 14:54

Kidney Cyst refers to the cysts different in size and hermetical in kidneys. In most cases, Kidney Cyst patients have no symptoms and even there is no anything abnormal when they have an examination. Occasionally, it feels a lump at the kidneys area. When the cyst is big and the pressure in the kidneys is high, or the cyst is infected, some patients can have the following symptoms:

1. Discomfort and pain in lower back and abdomen, due to kidneys swell and enlarge, which lead to the increase in tensile force of renal diolame or due to the stress of neighboring organs on kidneys. Besides, the cysts containing more water make the kidneys heavier and strain, which also lead to backache. The pain features dull pain and in ether or both flank, radiating towards back or downwards.

2. Hematuria. It can be microscopic hematuria and gross hematuria and occur regularly. When it attacks, patients do violent exercise, have trauma or infection, the backache can become severer. The reason of hematuria is that many arteries at the bottom of cyst walls burst and bleed due to stress increases or is accompanied by infection.

3. Lump in abdomen. It can be the main reason why patients go to see a doctor. The swelling kidneys can be felt among about 60%-80% Renal Cyst patients. Generally speaking, the bigger kidneys are, the worse the renal function is.

4. Proteinuria. The volume of proteinuria is usually not more than 2g/24 h.

5. Hypertension. When the cysts stress kidneys, it leads to shortage of blood supply and then the rennin increases, which finally result in higher blood pressure. When the renal function is normal, about 50% renal cyst patients have the complication of hypertension. In contrast, the morbidity of hypertension is higher when the renal function declines.

6. Renal function decline. Due to the cysts take some room and impose stress on kidneys, the normal renal tissues apparently decrease and then the renal function progressively declines.
