Harms of Hypertension in Diabetes

Hypertension is a risky factor for the patients with Diabetes. According to some researches, the incidence of hypertension is higher than non-Diabetes people and nearly 40~80% of the patients with Diabetes may suffer from hypertension. As the patients with Diabetes are very likely to have vascular diseases, the incidence of cardiovascular complications is much higher than the non-Diabetes people. Therefore, hypertension in Diabetes can do great harm to the patients.

(1) Based on some statistics, in China, Japan and other yellow races, cerebrovascular diseases are the number one death cause for the patients with Diabetes. Many patients with Diabetes are complicated with cerebral thrombosis. Therefore, the Diabetes patients complicated with high blood pressure are the risk groups for cerebrovascular diseases.

(2) For the patients with Diabetes, especially the female patients, the incidence of coronary diseases and heart diseases is far higher than the non-Diabetes patients. (3) If the patients with Diabetes are complicated with hypertension, they are more likely to have peripheral arteriosclerosis and gangrene.

(4) The Diabetes patients complicated with hypertension, they are more likely to have glomerulosclerosis and other Diabetic Kidney Disease. In those parts of patients, hypertension may be a manifestation of Kidney Disease or the inducement of Kidney Disease.

(5) Among the Diabetes patients complicated with hypertension, the incidence of eyeground pathological changes is higher. It is an important factor in leading to eyesight loss.
