Dessert is not allowed, and rice and fruit can’t make them satisfied. So what they can eat actually. Here is a healthy dietary provided by a dietitian.Dietitian reckons that above all, desert and great varieties of fruit are not allowed to Diabetes patients, for glucose and cane sugar are easily assimilated, which will raise the blood sugar level. Patients should eat less food containing high carbohydrate like sweet potato, potato, lotus root etc. It is better not to drink.Diabetes patients can have more high-fiber food to promote glycometabolism of organism like corn, wheat, Chinese cabbage and soybean products.
Some vegetables contain low sugar like Chinese chives, Zucchini, white gourd, pumpkin, greens, green pepper, and eggplant. Patients can eat more tomato which contains low sugar.
Eat more high-calcium food. Lack of calcium worsens Diabetes patient’s condition. Such high-calcium foods include dried small shrimps, sea tangle, pork ribs, sesame seed paste, soybean, milk etc.
Food rich in selenium. Selenium has the same physiological ability to regulate glycometabolism as that of insulin. Some seleniferous food can decrease blood sugar and improve the diabetic symptoms, and such foods include fish, mushroom, sesame, garlic, leaf mustard etc.
Food rich in vitamin B and vitamin C, which slows down the progression of diabetic complications and does good to lighten retinal lesion, and kidney disease to complement the two elements, like fish, milk, Chinese cabbage, soybean, and green vegetables etc.
People consider that sugar in meals will raise the level of blood sugar. So monosaccharide is listed in the Diabetes diet as forbidden substance. Recently, experts raise new concept of GL (glycogeny level) that Diabetes patients can have fructose properly. It is known that GL is a method to classify the food according to the potentiality of raising blood sugar. In the center of Australia Diabetes Education, the concept of GL has been used to educate patients. Some studies show that the educational method is more successful than traditional meal suggestion on decrease of food fat and increase of dietary fiber.
There are many types of sugar including glucose, fructose, lactose and starch among which the GL of fructose is the lowest. Meanwhile, since the concept of GL is brought in, people have a new understand to sugar. At present, studies at home and abroad have indicated that scientific diabetes diet is to control the total energy of intake. Patients control blood sugar with GL method not to forbid the sugar intake absolutely. It can make blood fat under good control to take fructose properly for Diabetes patients. So patients can eat some fruits containing fructose, like cherry plum, pomelo and fresh peach.
