Children Nephrotic Syndrome is a group of clinical syndromes. The main manifestations of it are obvious edema, large quantity of proteinuria, hypoproteinemia and hypercholesterolemia. And it can be caused by various reasons:
1 Primary Children Nephrotic Syndrome. It is related with the immune dysfunction. This kind of kidney disease commonly happens to children with the age of 2-7. And sometimes it also can be accompanied by microscopic hematuria or hypertension.
2 Secondary Children Nephrotic Syndrome
3 Congenital Children Nephrotic Syndrome. This kind is quite rare and it often starts with infancy.
During the disease, patient may suffer from edema in lower limbs, face and body, especially in parts with loose tissues, like eyelid. The scrotum of boys may look like a bulb due to the edema. Meanwhile, patients may also have pleural effusion and ascetic fluid. The edema can affect blood circulation and reduce local resistance. In this situation, it is quite easy to cause infection.
For patients with Children Nephrotic Syndrome, there is large quantity of protein in the urine and the result of urine routine test can present +++ or ++++, the plasma albumin will be detected to be reduced by blood routine test. Some children may have white or purple lines inside laps or upper arms, abdomen, chest, which are familiar with pregnant woman. The urine amount will also decrease obviously. Because of long-time and large-quantity leakage of protein through urination, children may present some symptoms caused by the protein malnutrition, like dry hair, skin; stuntedness; hematuresis; hypertension.
It is quite easy for the Children Nephrotic Syndrome to relapse and the most dangerous factor is infection, like skin and intestinal infection.
Then what are the common complications of Children Nephrotic Syndrome?
Infection
Due to the leakage of large quantity of protein through the urination, the forming of antibody is affected. And the adoption adrenal cortex hormone and cytotoxic agents can reduce the resistance of patient. In this situation, it is quite easy for patient to get infection, like skin infection, primary peritonitis, respiratory tract infection and urinary infection, even the ichorrhemia.
Coronary heart disease
As we all know, another top symptom of Children Nephrotic Syndrome is hyperlipemia. So the coronary heart disease will occur easily. It had become the third top risk factor for the death of Nephrotic Syndrome and rank only second to infection and renal failure.
The forming of thrombus
The reasons for the formation of thrombus are edema, less activity, increased blood viscosity etc.
Renal failure
Renal Failure:People with Nephrotic Syndrome will be at the state of low hemolytic dose for a long time. It will make kidney blood perfusion drop rapidly and further reduce the glomerular filtration rate which can result in renal failure.
The disorder of electrolyte and metabolism
Repeat use of diuretic or unreasonalbly intake of salt for a long time will cause the Nephrotic Syndrome relapse; the application of adrenocortical hormone and large amount of dirutic for a long time without supplement of potassium in time.
