During Spring Festival, people will hold activities to celebrate it. In China, more than 30 peoples in the 56 peoples celebrate Spring Festival.

The Laba Rice Porridge Festival

Spring Festival starts on the eighth day of the eight day of the twelfth month in lunar calendar. Laba rice porridge has an enormous influence in the folk. On this day, people will have a bowl of Laba rice porridge. Since Song Dynasty, having Laba rice porridge has become very popular on this day in China. Laba rice porridge presents people yearn for nice dreams.

Spring Festival couplets

Before Spring Festival, people will write good-luck sayings in antithesis on red papers and paste them on the door of the yard. Pasting Spring Festival couplets is an important ceremony of Spring Festival.

New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve refers to the last night of year in lunar calendar. It is the busiest day in the preparation for Spring Festival. On this day, people clean house, paste Spring Festival couplets and arrange visiting activities in the first month of the lunar year prepare New Year's Eve dinner, make dumplings for next day.
